Most of the candidates want to crack this exam in their first attempt, but for this, you need to consider some important tips. Here in this blog, we have mentioned some effective strategies for CAT preparation shared by the CAT toppers.

Last month's preparation tips by CAT toppers

To excel in the CAT 2023 exam, you must follow a systematic study plan. Choose to consistently practice mock test papers and watch interactive video sessions to enhance the chances of cracking the exam. The last year's toppers have shared their last-minute preparation tips with the new candidates so that they can perform their best.

  • Making a Timetable

Give priority to revision and online tests when preparing for the CAT 2023 Examination. Don't start new topics that may confuse you in the last few days. Plan study hours after work or courses if you are a professional worker or a student. Don't forget to schedule time for activities to keep your mind busy and fresh.

  • Improve Your Capabilities
To maximize your scoring, enhance your speed and accuracy. Being a CAT 2023 aspirant improves your ability to answer questions accurately and quickly. Improve your computing speed with regular practice and smart tricks.
  • Solve last year's Papers.
Practice makes perfect, so take numerous CAT 2023 mock practice papers from past years. This will acquaint you with the exam setting and boost your confidence. Sit for three-hour sessions to solve the question paper. This is how you can practice time management and simulate the actual test pattern. The more you practise, the less likely you are to make mistakes on exam day.
  • Prioritise quality over quantity
Prioritise quality over quantity while answering CAT questions. If you're hesitant about a question, don't rush to answer it. Always start with the questions which are easy to solve because complex questions may lower your confidence right away. This method will increase the number of questions you attempt, which will ultimately improve your success.
  • Regular practising of mock test papers
Solve CAT 2023 mock test papers to experience the real-time exam. Mock test papers offer valuable opportunities to build some exam strategies. Identify the sections which take more time or the section which seems tough to you. Practice those sections regularly. Always choose the recent test papers which are designed in the format of the new syllabus and marking scheme.
  • Balance your mental & physical health.
During the last 1 month preparation phase, take breaks in between your study hours. Always focus on quality study rather than quantity. It is essential to balance between your mental and physical health to refresh your mind and maintain focus. Try to engage yourself in your favourite hobbies.
  • Figure out your flash notes.
Instead of reviewing the CAT books during revision, use the flash notes. Create a flash note where you must write all the essential formulas concisely. These notes will help you a lot just before some days of the exam. In this way, you can quickly take a glance through it. Recall the formulas and tricks before going to bed. Try to stay focused and determined in the last days of the CAT 2023 exam.
  • Stay attentive
In the exam hall, you should stay focused on your question papers. Pay closer attention to reading the CAT (Common Admission Test) question paper thoroughly before attempting any section. Don’t waste your time on solving the questions which you can’t.
  • Manage Stress level
If you feel anxious during the exam, it’s normal, but try to avoid the situation by holding the confidence. Review all the concepts you have studied before the exam and stay calm. Delve into the new topics because it might confuse you. This is the time to show yourself how able you are to handle all the exam stress. To stay composed and relax during the CAT exam, indulge yourself in your favourite activities.CAT Mock Test
